Paraty

'Its just like the olden days'

View Rio de Janeiro - Santiago by land on jamieking's travel map.

After a crazy bus ride along the mountainous coast, I arrived in Paraty - a small fishing village which has maintained its colonial architecture.

This village is a National Historic Site and is located amongst an area of forests and mountains. One of the best ways to see the coast is to take a boat ride. So that's what I did.

Our boat ride lasted all day and stopped at several beaches for sunbathing and a barbeque. We also had dolphins and a turtle follow the boat!

So now I have rid myself of the pasty English skin colour and starting to relax into the pace of life here. Tomorrow I take the 24hour bus journey to Iguacu falls on the Brazil - Paraguay - Argentinian border before continuing into Argentina. I'm eager to move on into Argentina and towards the Andes.
